Scared is one of the many feelings related to fear. It is one of the most emotional states of fear as opposed to a milder feeling like worried.

It means: "thrown into or being in a state of fear, fright, or panic." This definition shows in itself the many variation fear can take. It can be either short, you can be scared when someone do something unexpected, or longer, you can be scared that you won’t finish a project in time.

Example: When he appeared unnoticed in the kitchen, I got so scared that I almost jumped at him.
