Feeling gratitude or sympathy; moved.

It is part of the "gratitude feelings" like appreciative, grateful, or thankful. It means feeling grateful for something kind that someone has done.

Like thankful, touched is generated inside the person. The verb "to touch" means "to come into or be in contact". The two meanings join in the sense that feeling touched is a bodily sensation.

Example: He was touched that you remembered his birthday.
